     KQ Chocolate Covered Spoons

   



Above: Easy to make Chocolate Covered Spoons add a festive touch to holiday and special occasion hot beverages.

 

Ingredients
2 ounces dark chocolate pieces
2 ounces white chocolate pieces
2 teaspoons vegetable shortening
1 tablespoon red sanding sugar


Utensils and Supplies
6 long-handled spoons (for dipping)
2 small spoons (for stirring melted chocolate)
2 microwave safe glass mixing bowls
wax paper
11 x 17 inch baking sheet
digital food thermometer

Above: To begin, melt the dark chocolate according to the package directions.  Next, once the chocolate is melted
and cooled to 89 degrees, dip each spoon in the chocolate.  Place the spoons on a wax paper covered baking pan
to set up.  While the dark chocolate is setting up, melt the white chocolate.


Above: Once the dark chocolate has set, dip the spoons half-way into the white chocolate.  Place the spoons back
on the wax paper lined baking sheet and sprinkle with red sanding sugar.  Allow the chocolate to set completely and
store the chocolate covered spoons in an airtight container until ready to use.
