Above: Tequini Sunrise cocktail served in a martini glass.  When served, the drink should appear as it does on the right.
A swizzle stick or cocktail straw can be used to stir the drink before consuming, (beverage on the left has been stirred).

Blendtec Mixer for Kitchen

Ingredients
2 shots silver tequila
2 shots orange juice
1/2 shot grenadine
ice cubes

Utensils and Supplies
cocktail shaker
cocktail strainer
shot glasses
martini glasses (for serving)
cocktail straws or swizzle sticks

This drink recipe has three ingredients, silver tequila, grenadine and orange juice.

Measure two shots of silver tequila, two shots of orange juice and 1/2 shot of grenadine.  We used two ounce shot glasses,
so this mix will be enough for two cocktails.

Fill the cocktail shaker 2/3 full with ice cubes.  Pour in silver tequila and orange juice.

Place the lid on the shaker securely, then shake vigorously for several seconds.  KQ Host Mitch Hightower says,
"You'll know you've shaken long enough when the metal shaker is too cold to hold onto".

Remove the lid and use a strainer to pour this mix into martini-style glasses.

There will be enough mix for two drinks when using two ounce shot glasses.

Slowly and carefully pour 1/4 shot of grenadine down the inside of each glass.  The grenadine will sink to the bottom
and create the "sunrise" effect.

Serve the beverages with a swizzle stick or small straw so cocktail can be stirred before drinking.

Mitch explains why he prefers silver tequila to gold, "Silver tequila has more agave flavor.  And it doesn't have the
oily quality of gold tequila, which in most cases, has had caramel added to achieve the gold color".
