     KQ Baked Meatballs

   



Above: KQ Baked Meatballs are just out of the oven.

 

Ingredients
1 pound ground pork
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
2 slices sour dough bread (to make 1/2 cup bread crumbs)
1/2 cup diced yellow or white onion
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons dried parsley


Utensils and Supplies
food processor
wooden spoon or spatula
11"Wx17"Lx1"D baking sheet
large mixing bowl
small bowl
chef knife
fork
measuring cups
measuring spoons
cooking spray
1 1/2 inch scoop

Above: Remove the crust from the bread.



Above: Tear the bread into pieces and place in the food processor.


Place the lid securely on the food processor.



Above: Pulse the bread until it becomes fine, fluffy crumbs.



Above: Place 1/2 cup of bread crumbs in a glass measuring container.


Add cream to the bread crumbs.


Above: The breadcrumbs will soak up the cream.  Set aside.


Above: Remove the skin and root end from the onion and give it a rough chop.


Above: Place onion in the food processor.


Above: Pulse the onions in the food processor.


Above: Process until the onions are finely diced.



Above: Measure 1/2 cup of diced onion.



Above: Crack the eggs into a small bowl.  Beat the eggs with a fork until the yolks and whites are blended.


Above: Place the beef and pork in a large mixing bowl.


Above:  Use a wooden spoon or spatula to break up the meat.


Above: Be sure the meat is broken up into small chunks.


Above: Add the breadcrumb and cream mixture to the meat.


Above: Pour in the eggs.



Above: Add the diced onion.



Above: Add the parsley.


Above: Add the salt.



Above: Add the black pepper.


Above: The ingredients are ready to be mixed.



The best tools for blending this mixture are your clean hands.



Above: Mix the ingredients together.



Above: Continue kneading the ingredients until well blended.


Be sure all of the ingredients are thoroughly and evenly mixed together.


Above: Coat the baking sheet with cooking spray.



Use a scoop to get an equal amount of meat mixture for each meatball.  Remove the meat from the scoop and roll
the meat between your palms to form spheres.



Above: Line the meatballs up in rows on the greased baking sheet.


Above: When all of the meatballs have been formed it's time to bake.



Above: Place the baking sheet on the center rack of the oven and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.


Above: When meatballs have finished baking, remove the baking sheet from the oven.  Remove the meatballs from
the pan and allow them to drain on a paper towel lined plate.
