2 tablespoons powdered milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter (softened to room temperature)
1 package yeast
2/3 cup water

Utensils and Supplies

bread machine

Above: We use a bread machine to mix the ingredients and put the dough through 2 rise sequences.

Above: Set the bread machine according to the manufacturer directions.  We used the "white bread" option, set for
"manual" which will mix, knead and allow the dough to rise, but will not bake it.

Above: Ingredients for the bread dough.

Above: Crack the egg in a small mixing bowl and beat with a fork.

Place 2/3 cups water in a microwave safe glass measuring cup and warm slightly in the microwave.  Do not boil water.
Remove from microwave and stir in the egg.  Set mixture aside.

Above: Add flour to the bread machine.

Add sugar and dry milk.

Add butter that has been softened to room temperature.

Add salt.

Above: Pour in the egg and water mixture.

Close the lid and set the machine to start.

The ingredients are being stirred.  If the mixture appears really wet add a bit more flour.

The machine is kneading the dough.  The built-in timer will alert us when the dough is finished.

The bread machine is finished now that the dough has completed the second rise cycle.

The dough is ready to be used for bread or rolls.  Try the KQ Parker House Rolls, CLICK HERE.
