     Chocolate Ganache

 



Above: This thick and rich chocolate sauce is easy to make.  Try it on KQ Vanilla Ice Cream.

Pyrex Products

 

Ingredients
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chip morsels
1 ounce 100% cacao unsweetened baking chocolate
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 stick butter (softened to room temperature)

Utensils and Supplies
microwave safe glass measuring cup
measuring cups
measuring spoon
mixing bowl
whisk
covered container (for storage)


Above: Pour cream into a glass measuring cup.


Above: Microwave cream until it just begins to bubble.  The time this will take depends on the wattage of your microwave
oven.  In the KQ 1250 watt oven, this took less than 2 minutes at full power.



Above: This recipes uses a combination of chocolate chips and baking chocolate.


Above: Break up baking chocolate in mixing bowl.


Above: Add chocolate chips.


Above: Pour hot cream over chocolate.


Above: Allow the chocolate to begin to melt.


Above: Begin stirring the mixture with a whisk.


Above: The color of the mixture will change as the chocolate melts into the cream.


Above: The chocolate has melted and combined with the cream.


Above: Add butter.


Above: Whisk butter into mixture thoroughly.


Above: Add vanilla.


Above: Whisk in vanilla and your ganache is complete.  Ganache can be served warm over ice cream or allowed to cool
to use as frosting on cupcakes or as a donut glaze.
