     KQ Garlic Hummus

 



Above: The KQ Garlic Hummus is flavorful and easy to make.

 

Ingredients
1 15.5 ounce can chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
1/3 cup tahini paste
6 tablespoons lemon juice
4 cloves garlic
4 dashes hot pepper sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Utensils and Supplies
measuring spoons
measuring cups
food processor with blade attachment
strainer (mesh colander)
garlic press
spoon
plastic container with lid (for storage)

Above: Pour the chickpeas into a strainer and discard liquid from can.  Rinse chickpeas well under cool water, drain.


Above: Peel the garlic cloves and remove the root ends.  Crush the garlic using a garlic press.



Above: Stir the tahini paste thoroughly to be sure it is well blended.



Above: Set up a food processor with a basic blade attachment.



Above: Add chickpeas to food processor.


Above: Add tahini paste.


Above: Add the crushed garlic.


Above: Add salt.



Above: Pour in the lemon juice.


Above: Add hot pepper sauce.


Above: Place lid on food processor and blend for 30-45 seconds.


Above: Be sure the mixture is well blended while retaining some texture.


Above: Hummus can be stored in an air-tight container in the refrigerator, or served immediately at room temperature.
