Ingredients
bread dough
flour
1/3 stick of butter

Utensils and Supplies
glass baking dish
small glass bowl
circle cutter
pastry brush
rolling pin
cooling racks
non-stick cooking spray

Above: We used our bread machine to mix the ingredients and put the dough through 2 rise sequences.  For directions
on how to make this bread dough using a bread machine,

Above: Place 1/3 stick of butter in a glass microwave safe bowl.  Cut in 2 pieces to speed melting.  Using a 20% power
setting, melt the butter slowly in the microwave.  Meanwhile, preheat your baking oven to 375 degrees.

Flour your work surface to prevent the dough from sticking.

Above: This how the dough will look when it's ready to come out of the bread machine.

Put dough on floured work surface and punch down.

Above: We chose the 2 inch circle cutter for our PARKER HOUSE ROLLS.  Have a brush handy for the melted butter as well.

Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness.  You'll have to roll a few times as the dough will want to snap back to it's original form.

Use the cutter to create circles of dough.  Putting some flour on the cutter will help keep the dough from sticking.
You'll get 14-16 circles providing that you used the KQ bread dough recipe.

Coat a glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

Above: Give butter a good stir and be sure butter is completely melted after removing from the microwave oven.

Brush one side of the dough circles and fold in half with the buttered side in.

Place buttered and folded dough in the baking dish with the split facing up.  Rolls should touch so they remain upright.

Cover rolls with paper towels and allow the dough to rise again for 30-45 minutes.  The time will depend on your room
temperature and humidity.

When the rolls appear approximately doubled in volume, you are ready to bake.

Bake rolls on the center rack of the oven for 18-20 minutes or until lightly golden brown on the top of the dough.

Above: Rolls after baking.

Flip rolls out of baking dish onto a cooling rack.

Use a second rack to turn the rolls right-side up.

Rolls are ready to serve.  Each roll will pull apart easily.

To serve: pull the rolls open and slather in butter.  These rolls taste great warm and at room temperature.
